The Best Tasting and Cheapest Dolce Gusto Coffee Pods
Updated: Nov 18, 2020
We recently reviewed the best Dolce Gusto machines, and we are so impressed with their machines. We particularly love how they're quite cheap (compared to other brands such as Nespresso) and how their quality is exceptional. Carrying on from that post, we figured that we should review our favourite pods and the costings. There are so many to choose from, so hopefully this post helps narrow down your search!
Struggling for Christmas presents? The ultimate guide to Christmas kitchen gifts December 2020

1) Nescafé
These are one of the best pods available for the machines because they are built by Nescafé, for Nescafé. They offer a huge variety of drinks, from espresso, to flat whites, they honestly have every product - click here to have your mind blown.
Our favourite drink that they sell are the Cappuccino pods. They are thick and creamy with milk froth, whilst having that rich aromatic espresso flavour. Overall, each drink equates to 43p per drink! Not bad ey!
If you're not into coffee as much, or want some pods for the family, then we really love the taste and texture of the Nescafe Dolce Gusto Chococino. A much better alternative to traditional hot chocolate powder. The drink comes out nice and thick, with a sweet tasting cocoa Not too overpowering though! Each drink works out at 55p per drink.
2) Starbucks
A great brand which has transferred its barista quality into home pods. These Dolce Gusto Compatible pods are insane, and can be ordered in many different varieties (e.g caramel macchiato, Colombia, espresso, house blend...the list goes on.
For the Cappucino, these pods are a little more expensive, at 58p per drink, but a lot cheaper than if you went in-store! If you want these even cheaper you can sign up to Amazon's "Subscribe & Save".
Another amazing product from Starbucks is their Caramel Macchiato. If you're into this drink, you'll love these pods. Trust me, they're amazing! Each drink works out at 50p a cup, and although it's not official Starbucks in-house quality, it's pretty good!
3) Amazon Brand - Happy Belly
We love Happy Belly! One of the cheapest pods available on the market, but the quality does not suffer. Happy Belly sell a variety of drinks, but not as large as Nescafé. Interestingly though, they do sell a lungo decaf, so perfect for those watching their caffeine intake. Each drink equates to 41p.
4) Caffè Colosseo
We came across this brand a while back and loved their drinks. They use very simple branding but it works well. Their coffee is a blend of Arabica and Robusta, which is strong and tasty! Although they only sell Latte Macchiato. Each drink is 48p, and well worth it!
5) Galaxy Hot Chocolate
One for those hot chocolate lovers! Did you know Dolce Gusto machines aren't just about coffee, they can do other drinks too! For example, Galaxy make their own hot chocolate pods, which is one of the best we've ever tasted. So easy to do, and just 39p per drink.
6) Pick And Choose
For those that don't know their favourite drinks, but know they want to experiment, why not get a mix and match of 4 packs. A great way to trial other products and flavours, or one for the the family / office where you need a big variety!
7) Letilio Reuseable Coffee Pods
Lastly, if you are specific on your coffee, or perhaps want to protect the environment, then these reusable coffee pods from Letilio are perfect. Simply open the lid, place in your own coffee grounds, close the lid and enjoy! Each capsule can be used hundreds of times, saving the world and your money!
Our Verdict
If you've recently acquired a Dolce Gusto machine, or want to try different brands, then we strongly recommend the Starbucks pods. Their flavours and strength are unrivalled, especially on the cappuccino! You won't regret it!
